Sun 9/24 9:30-10:50 Eshe will be sharing the “Dry Bone Shuffle” by The Vaudevillian as a Pay What You Can workshop. All money goes to fight Breast Cancer.  No minimum donation.

Technique Tackle Box (11 to 1pm)

Join Angela in a two hour workshop dedicated to working on your bellydance technique. Angela will take you through some of her go-to drills for keeping your technique sharp as a tack. Get ready to work your brain while working up a sweat!

All bellydance styles and levels welcome. Not recommended for absolute beginners to bellydance.

Silky Sharp (2 to 4pm)

Take some of your newly polished technique and apply it to sections of a new choreography created by Angela. This piece is smooth as butter with oodles of sharp accents and is infused with lots of Angela’s signature style. Expand on the technique and explore the expressiveness of these modern fusion combos.

All bellydance styles and levels welcome. Not recommended for absolute beginners to bellydance.

ANGELA JOSEPHINE
Angela Josephine is a Modern Fusion Bellydancer studying at The Dark Side Studio in Toronto, Ontario under the tutelage of Audra Simmons and Heather Labonté. She is a member of Lavish Dance Company and The Dark Side Studio Student Troupe. She was most recently part of the full length show Fragment Repair- A New Show by Lavish.

Angela began studying bellydance in 2012 at Serpentine Studios in Halifax, NS taking traditional and tribal fusion bellydance with teachers Laura Selenzi and Monique Ryan. She was a member of Mahari Tribal and the Serpentine Student Troupe. She also studied Bharatanatyam with Suneetra Karam-Singh.

Angela enjoys enriching her dance education by travelling to take workshops with other dancers and getting nerdy talking about all things dance.

VISION

SACHA envisions a world free of violence and oppression.

MISSION

SACHA is a feminist, non-profit, community-based organization of women guided by anti-racist and anti-oppressive values. Understanding the dynamics of gender and power in sexual violence, our programs will:

1) Provide services to people who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives.

2) Work to end violence and oppression through education, advocacy, coalition-building, community partnerships and activism.

3) Work towards the equitable inclusion of all women

SACHA will challenge social and political structures and systems that contribute to the experience of violence, oppression, and exploitation of all people.

Services are confidential and free of charge. We respect the right to safety and privacy.

Every month we offer Pay What You Can Beginner Bellydance workshops. We want to bring affordable art & culture classes to the community while also supporting local charities that enrich the lives of Canadians.

No donation is too small.

100% of all money collected goes directly to charity.

We are located at 1 West Ave S, Suite 300, Hamilton, ON.

We are near the Canadian Tire downtown & across the street from the First Place building.  Free parking is available at the rear of the building.

“THRIVE Child and Youth Trauma Services provides professional assessment and trauma treatment services, as well as prevention and educational programs. Our treatment programs include comprehensive assessment and specialized treatment for children and youth in our community who have been sexually abused, have been involved in intrafamilial sexual abuse (children and youth within the same family), or have problem sexual behaviours. We also offer services to address the unique needs of refugee and immigrant children and youth experiencing trauma symptoms or significant acculturation stress as well as support to their families.”
