Little Ones Policy
Was inspired by this post that reflected so many of my own values so I Mahasti-fied it a bit.
1) All exclusively breastfeeding babies are welcome in class as often as is necessary. Tuesday and Thursday 10AM classes are a great option if you don’t have daytime child care but want to shimmy! I bring my own little one to class during those hours so this class is discounted to $5 cash drop in fee.
2) For older children and babies, I understand that unexpected interruptions in childcare happen. While this is not meant to be a long-term childcare solution, you may occasionally bring a child to the studio to cover gaps in care. Your class cards are also valid for 3 months so if you prefer to stay home you still have time to make up the class later in the session. We currently offer at least 6 drop in classes a week (often more) so you have a minimum of 72 chances to use your class card.
3) I ask that all students work with me to create a welcoming atmosphere that is respectful of all forms of diversity, including diversity in parenting status.
4) If your child needs special attention during class and is disrupting learning for other dancers, please step away into the next room until their need has been met.

1) $100 private group lesson at Mahasti
Weekday daytime, Tuesday or Friday nights, Saturday afternoon & evening, all day Sunday availability. Email eshebellydancer@hotmail.com or write our facebook page to confirm. Once a party is booked it is non-refundable.
2) As a group join one of our pay what you can classes Monday 7PM or Saturday 10:45AM. You can name your price but you’ll be joining an existing class with other students.
3) as a group join one of our drop in Basics classes (modern fusion styles) Wed 6:05PM with Angela or Thurs 7PM with Faith for $18 per person. Please note you’ll be joining an existing class with other students.

New Mommy & Me Class – Next Saturday at Mahasti in Hamilton
This is a choreography class meant for children aged 4 and up. It’s a great way to spend time together and try something new. There’s no need to be a great dancer or have previous experience.
This class has an optional performance date Saturday December 17th at 7PM. I try to keep costumes as simple and affordable as possible, often dancers already have the pieces they need at home. Our last costume was just all black clothing with a hipscarf provided by me.
Glitter – Bellydance Show in The Casbah, Hamilton
Join us Sat Oct 20th for bellydance in The Casbah! Guests are Kenzie, Dragonfly, Wild Orchid & Audra Simmons. Of course Mahasti will be offering up their own spooky takes on the holiday season. If you are new to the studio or new to dance feel free to drop in to Basics, Beginner Skills or Feel Good classes. With 6+ months of experience you can also drop into Creative Combos on Wednesday nights in September.
New Mommy & Me Session starts Sept 29th (ages 4+). Kids can dance with any caregiver.
Toddlers & up can drop into Lil Movers. $5 cash drop in fee.

Workshops with Heather Marie in Hamilton at Mahasti
Expand and Contract 11-1
Let’s explore breath & full body movements. We will begin with dynamic stretching followed by focused dance conditioning sequences to preparing your body and focus the mind. Drills w/ a heavy focus on lines, turns, spins, & extensions will help inspire a more dynamic range of expression in your dance. Come with the intention to refine your movement quality and take your dance to the next level.
Synthesis 2-4PM
Applying the techniques from the previous class, you will learn a few fun, yet challenging combinations; fusing soft flowing contemporary technique with good ole’ tribal fusion pop n locking! Fun for the brain and the body! In closing, we will also be exploring group/partner work. (Bring knee pads if you feel you need them as we will be doing some floor work!)
Heather Marie Dancer
Coming from generations of Artists, Musicians, and dancers, it was only a matter of time before Heather Marie discovered her love of Middle Eastern Belly Dance. Training for close to two decades, Heather is currently Suhaila Salimpour Level-2 and Jamila-1 Certified. As well as a Fat Chance® Belly Dance Sister Studio of American Tribal Style® belly dance. Heather is Co-Founder and of her performance ensemble, Izgreyala, and Artistic Director of her student troupe, Mandali. Her unique style is rooted in contemporary, Tribal Fusion, Folkloric, and Classic Golden Era style bellydance, sprinkled with Hip Hop, Pop & Lock, and Liquid Dance from the early 90s electronic scene. Intensive studies include Suhaila Salimpour, Kami Liddle, Jill Parker, Carolena Noriccio, April Rose, Zafira and the Indigo to name a few. Spicing it up, Heather Marie also dabbles in the Circus arts, to which she is an Insured Fire Performer and well versed in partner Acro-Balance. Heather teaches throughout the US and Canada, holds weekly dance classes at her home studio in Warren, MI, & is available for skype lessons.
A seasoned performer, Heather Marie can list opening for Beats Antique as well as Thomas Dolby in 2012. Performing in full stage productions, such as “Club Belly Dance” with the Belly Dance Super Stars in 2012&13, “Stardust Follies” w/ Kami Liddle and Goldstar Dance Co. in 2015 &16, and “Torch with a Twist”, the longest running Detroit based vaudevillian variety show, among her many accomplishments.
